Superalloys, or high performance alloys, are alloys that exhibit excellent mechanical strength and creep resistance at high temperatures, good surface stability, and corrosion and oxidation resistance. They typically have an austenitic face-centered cubic crystal structure with a base alloying element of nickel, cobalt, or nickel-iron. The development of superalloys has primarily been driven by the aerospace and power industries.
The corrosion-resistant superalloys are widely used in extreme environments where tremendous heat and corrosion resistance is paramount to the integrity of the end product. Chemical and petrochemical processing, power plants, and oil and gas industries widely use these superalloys.
Many of the industrial nickel-based superalloys contain alloying elements, including chromium (Cr), aluminum (Al), titanium(Ti), molybdenum(Mo), tungsten (W), niobium (Nb), tantalum (Ta) and cobalt (Co).
Superalloys, a.k.a. high performance alloys, have become the steel of choice for corrosion resistance and versatility.
Mega Mex supplies most of the superalloys in the form of sheet, plate, bar, pipe & tube (welded & seamless), wire, and fittings.

What are the characteristics of Superalloys?
The term “superalloy” was first used shortly after World War II to describe a group of alloys developed for use in turbosuperchargers and aircraft turbine engines that required high performance at elevated temperatures.
